A LOOK AT THE DRESSES OF AMFAR'S INSPIRATION GALA

Hello Luvies,

In the midst of getting my collection done, as I still keep up to date on fashion news, I thought I'd share my thoughts on the dresses that graced The Plaza Hotel, New York on Thursday where the amfAR's Inspiration Gala was held.

"The evening, sponsored by MAC Cosmetics, raised almost $1 million for the AIDS organization. Jennifer Lopez was awarded with its humanitarian award for her philanthropy." - wwd

Although Jlo was honored at this event, I didn't like her Tom Ford dress, the glittery blue with what looks like a leopard print nude. It just wasn't doing it for me, take a look

Iman on the other hand looked gorgeous in an all red Valentino.

and Uma Thurman in Versace, Fabulous!

Candice looking stunning with her new platinum blonde hair in Theyskens' Theory.

and last but not least, how stunning does Carly Rae Jepsen look?

RBCL DIARIES : FABRICS, DESIGNS AND DUBAI

Hello Luvies,

Its been a hectic stressful couple of weeks with getting things done for the collection. Ill give you a run down on what I've been up to. While in the midst of trying to find fabrics, I finalized my designs! yayyyy but to my dismay I did not find the kind of fabrics I was looking for here in Bahrain, so we drove to Saudi Arabia TWICE to try and find something BUT it wasnt much of a success either, I mean I found a few fabrics I liked but nothing that I can say I LOVE. I came to the conclusion that in Bahrain and Saudi you cant find colorful prints in thick fabrics. These two countries will offer you fabrics for mostly evening wear and dresses, i.e silks, cottons, etc.

I spoke to a few friends after the unsuccessful fabric hunt and they suggested Kuwait and Dubai, now since It's been years and I mean YEARS since Ive been to Dubai and seeing as the Dubai Beauty Expo was happening, we flew to Dubai! Dubai is AMAZING, it's like New York but different! I do have to say based on our hectic agenda, it was a very tiring trip! I decided that I must re-visit, but this time to relax :)

While in Dubai I visited the much spoken about 'Souq Nayef' and guess what! I found my fabrics! yayyyy it was way cheaper than Bahrain and Saudi too! But it took a total of 3 days of going around different stores, feeling fabric, choosing colors and such till I finally decided! I have to thank my father for being very patient with my very indecisive self :p

The Dubai Beauty Expo which was squeezed in between fabric hunting was a HUGE exhibiton with everything you can possibly think of that is related to beauty I mean hair, nails, makeup, fitness, teeth whitening, it was all there! It was a cool experience to see the many countries and what they had to offer. You can check out some of the pics below of the expo and my trip :)
