HOW SALSA'S PERFECT FITTING JEANS ARE FITTING INTO MY WARDROBE

Hey Luvies,

I was invited to Salsa's Blogger's Event last week and they invited us in to talk to us all about the different types of jeans they have for all the different types of bodies out there. Now to be honest with you I've been into Salsa maybe once or twice, my cousin loves their jeans and always shops there but I didn't know what all the fuss was about. Little did I know…

Upon arriving at the Salsa Blogger's Event we were greeted by the lovely bdaya team who were the organizers of this great event. We were then each given a mini consultation by Salsa's stylist Ekram on the type of body we had. Ekram then gave us 3 pairs of jeans each to try on and see which one we liked/fitted best. The first pair I put on was the Sculpture, it's a medium rise slim legged jean. I loved the color but with my skinny ankles the slim was just not doing it for me. The second pair I tried on was the Comfort Colette, it's a medium rise skinny legged jean. I instantly fell in love with them! They literally fit so well, they're so soft and comfortable AND they were skinny enough for my skinny ankles. This was it! I didn't even have to try the third one, although I did just for the sake of it BUT STILL they weren't the Comfort Colette, Comfort Colette were MY perfect fitting jeans! They have a bit of a push up in the sense of how they were constructed, they push up in all the right places.

This is the secret of Salsa Jeans, they have been designed specifically to fit your body. I mean seriously I didn't know a pair of jeans could really fit so well. I'm really not over exaggerating. I've worn jeans my whole life, I mean who hasn't, we all own at least one pair of jeans. And the problem I face when purchasing jeans is my ankle issue, my ankles are too skinny that even if the jeans say they're skinny, they won't necessarily look skinny on me. Another thing is jeans that loosen out after a few hours. Don't you just hate that? They're all tight and look good, and after a few hours of sitting down, you get up and you gotta pull your pants up. Salsa jeans managed to solve all my jeans issues. I wore them the whole day today and they didn't loosen up, they were as Salsa's aim says 'a second skin.'

Their aim says it all and it's definitely true "Salsa aims to create jeans that truly fit the body as a second skin and highlight the best features of every women." Don't believe them? Go ahead and try for yourself, go into a Salsa store and ask for a mini consultation to find your perfect fitting jeans.

During the event Ekram gave a presentation on what the different types of bodies are and how Salsa has jeans for every body type. Seriously though, they do! They even have maternity jeans! They have jeans that shape your hips (Shape Up), sculpt your waist (Sculpture), push in your tummy (Push In secret), push up your bottom (Push Up wonder), and the (Mystery) which have butt pads for those of you out there with flat bottoms. My body type is a no-brainer, hour glass figure, therefore the Comfort Colette were perfect because they hugged my curves and enhanced the shape of my body. To show off my new pair of jeans which by the way I got for free at this awesome event, I've decided to do a little style post.

Since the holiday season has officially started, and as the cold breezy weather slowly graces our little island. I've put together 3 outfits of how I'll be wearing my Salsa jeans this holiday season.

Look 1: Houndstooth printed top, Black scarf, Black heels, and a Black hat
P.s. Yes this is my I can't believe how good these jeans fit me face hehe :p

Look 2: Oversized Black sweater, Black leg warmers, Black heels, and a Black turban

Look 3: Beige loose blouse, Black floral belt, Black heels, and a Black hat

And there you have it, my 3 looks for this holiday season with my perfect fitting Salsa Jeans.
Early Happy Holidays :)

AMINA GALLERY OPENING

Hello Luvies,

I was invited to the opening of Amina Gallery by the lovely owner herself Amina Al Abbasi. Amina was with me in high school and she was an artist since then, painting away during IB Art Class. I love how she has continued and prospered and succeeded. I'm so proud of her for everything that she has accomplished including this beautiful gallery. Amina showcases her art pieces as well as home accessories and canvas bags and phone cases. All pieces have her talented art on them. I love her style of art and how everything is presented, the gallery is definitely a must visit. It is located in Riyadat Mall in Aali, the store is right by the entrance so you won't miss it. I leave you with photos from the event :)

SAKS FIFTH AVENUE FASHION SHOW 2013

Hey Luvies,

I was invited to attend the Saks Fifth Avenue Fall/Winter 2013 Fashion Show and what a show it was! The event was very well organized, from the reception to the lighting and the runway. It was definitely a success! Amongst the designer clothing on the runway was Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen, Chloe, Celine, Louboutin and Tadashi Shoji. The show featured both female and male ensembles modeled on a runway in the Saks Fifth Avenue store at City Centre. It was definitely a successful event! I also caught up with my fellow bloggers after the event who were all dressed so fabulously. I wore the shift dress from my Resort 2014 Collection paired with white heels and a white clutch. I leave you with the photos :)

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH SALLY MATTHEWS OF HARPER'S BAZAAR

Hello Luvies,

As promised here is the exclusive short interview with Sally Matthews, Fashion and Beauty Director of Harper's Bazaar Arabia.

I met Sally at the Grand Opening of The Fashion Capitals of The World event at Moda Mall. 'The event which is in collaboration with Harper's Bazaar Arabia, is gearing up to showcase fashion, beauty, style and creativity as part of it's magnificent MODA Mall Fashion Festival 2013, taking place from 25th September to 12th October 2013.'

Sally looked absolutely fabulous, I especially loved her Leivan Kash Ear Cuff! Check out the interview below :)

What are your 3 favorite brands for clothing?

"I love Givenchy, Stella McCartney blazers, you can never go wrong, Celine for shoes, they're really comfortable."

What are your top 3 brands for cosmetics?

"I love Laura Mercier for skin, she does amazing illuminating foundations and mosturizers. Chanel, I always use their colors and nail varnishes. Nars, which you can't get here, but I love it all their colors are amazing."

What's your go to accessory piece? (Jewelry)

"At the moment I'm having a bit of an ear cuff loving, but I usually go for bold necklaces, because they just change things up and you can make a T-shirt look cool."

I totally agree with her last point, I love statement necklaces for that exact reason. Just throw on jeans, a tee and a bedazzled statement necklace and you have yourself a fabulous outfit. I wore the pants from my Resort 2014 Collection with a yellow neon top and white blazer and yes a statement necklace!

Well there you have it, the must-haves of Harper's Bazaar Arabia's Fashion and Beauty Director, Sally Matthews. It was an honor meeting you sally, thanks for answering my questions :)

EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH HUDA BEAUTY & MONA KATTAN

Hey Luvies,

I was invited to attend the exclusive Grand Opening of The Fashion Capitals of The World event at Moda Mall with the gorgeous Huda Kattan of Huda Beauty, the lovely Mona Kattan of Dollhouse Dubai, and the stylish Sally Matthews from Harper's Bazaar Arabia. 'The event which is in collaboration with Harper's Bazaar Arabia, is gearing up to showcase fashion, beauty, style and creativity as part of it's magnificent MODA Mall Fashion Festival 2013, taking place from 25th September to 12th October 2013.'

The grand opening kicked off with the ribbon cutting followed by the Kattan sisters sitting with Harper's Bazaar Arabia Sally Matthews to talk Beauty and Fashion. After a few photos and media interviews, I then got the opportunity to sit and interview the Kattan sisters myself! How Exciting!

The Kattan sisters are both gorgeous and very sweet women. I was glad I got the opportunity to speak to them one on one and get my questions answered. By interviewing them I realized how different they are from each other, Huda is more classic and Mona is more funky. They're both very sweet ladies, check out the interview below as well as photos from the event!

What are your 3 favorite brands for clothing?

Huda: "I definitely love Givenchy, thats one of the first brands I look to. I love Christopher Kane. I really do love Gucci recently too, been buying alot of Gucci shirts, I love the leopard that they've been recently having, I love leopard!"

Mona: "For me I love Dolce & Gabanna, I think its so nice because its so feminine, its really colorful and they use a lot of different textures, I think its really amazing. I also really love Manoush, very funky, very colorful, a lot of different patterns. Mc Queen, he's super edgy. I'm not really a person who is very brand loyal, I know thats horrible, I don't care what a brand is, I just if I like it I'll buy it. I love niche brands that no one has heard of. When I see something that I know nobody else will have, Ill buy it."

Here's when I realize how Mona and I have similar taste, everything she mentioned is so me!

then Mona Says: "Ya I was looking at you, I was like I love her outfit!"

Here is when I started cheesing! "THANK YOU! =D"

Huda: "Ya, Mona would like more towards the local designers, I actually like somewhere like here (MODA mall) is where me and my husband would shop."

What are your top 3 brands for cosmetics?

Huda: "Definitely for me Chanel, I love Chanel because ok there are a lot of different brands that are high end that have good products but Chanel overall is an amazing brand, the quality is fantastic, the colors are amazing and they come out with great collections so overall its my number 1 go to brand. I also love Bioderma, they have amazing skincare and also from Bioderma, Institut Esthederm, incredible brand, its really revolutionary, they were the first ones who created SPF for sunscreen, they're the first ones to ever actually release products that could completely heal your skin."

Mona: "For me I really love MAC"

Huda: "womp womp, I'm not a big fan of MAC at all!"

Mona: "Its probably not Huda's favorite because she's too advanced for me, but I love MAC's makeup because you know you have so many colors and I love the fact that they come with something new all the time. Every time I go there they have a new lipstick, a new blush, so it's really great. I also really love Givenchy makeup, I think its really good quality. And for skincare I'd have to say I really love Shiseido, its really great, I've been using their eye cream for years, I can't stop."

What's your go to accessory piece? (Jewelry)

Huda: "I would say sunglasses, not jewelry I know. But I have something that I really love, I bought it from Saks, The Venna necklace, it's really stunning and one of my favorite necklaces that I've ever purchased. Its one of those really statement pieces thats just super beautiful and every time I wear it I get such an amazing response from people, whenever I wanna feel gorgeous, I wear that."

Mona: "I'm an accessory addict, I have this necklace here, I never take it off, I feel like its very light, its simple, it doesnt show too much, I really like that. And I always keep my watch on, I mean I take it off when I go to bed but I love it, its actually me and my friends we have this brand the puppet show, so this is like the iraqi emblem and we have one for all the gcc countries. Normally I wear a pair of earrings that my sisters got me for my birthday, I usually never take them off but today I put on a big pair. You know I'm very sentimental, things that have a lot of meaning, I usually never take them off."

And there you have it! The Kattan sisters must have clothing, beauty and jewelry brands/ items!

Thank you so much Huda and Mona for taking the time to sit with me and answer my questions I really appreciate it and I'm sure my readers will love the interview too! And Thank you for the Giselle lashes Huda! I can't wait to wear them! Saving them for a wedding I have coming up, will post photos when I do ;) Hope to see you two in Reem BuQais-Rivera designs, thinking of custom designing pieces for you lovely ladies, stay gorgeous and I hope to see you when I'm visiting Dubai, will definitely have to stop by The Dollhouse ;)

I gave Huda and Mona a little something from my collection, the peplum piece from my Resort 2014 collection! Check out Huda posing with it below, such a sweetheart!

I wore the pants from my Resort 2014 collection with my FMM by Fatma Al Mulla bag with a neon top from Zara, White Blazer from H&M, Statement Necklace and White Heels from Stradivarius.

Stay tuned for my next post, an exclusive interview with Sally Matthews, Fashion and Beauty Director of Harper's Bazaar Arabia!
